Introduction

       China had obtained respectably achievement in the field of mechanical technology in 15th century and had been in the lead of the world over a long period of time. Until Ming and Ching dynasties, a crowd of outstanding scientists and engineers appear in the western world and the addition of the adopted of the policy of "self-lock" in Ching dynasty, that make the mechanical technology of the ancient China fall behind the level of the industry countries gradually. 

       Although China had invented many important machinery, due to the reasons such as incomplete documentation, lack of propagation and lost of the finished objects, many ingenious designs were not familiar and even unknown to the world. Moreover, some important achievements originated from China are considered as western inventions.

       If organized study, research, development, design, manufacture, exhibition, and even reapplication could be done on the ancient Chinese machinery, the past mechanical culture can be shared by the world.
